 Answers to FAQ's

What is eVS?

eVS is the USPS Electronic Verification System that enables mailers to document and pay postage through electronic manifest files as an alternative to the current paper-based Mail Manifest System (MMS). Minimum shipping volume requirements are the same as paper-based manifesting with the USPS.

eVS streamlines the induction, verification and postage payment processes with seamless acceptance, parcel sampling and monthly reconciliation of postage charges from individual manifests. Combined, this eliminates manifest verifications by the post office, allowing you to ship whenever you want.  It also eliminates hours of paperwork preparation and postal review.

Because ABOL Easy-eVS is already eVS-Compliant, you can start shipping faster and continue to ship uninterrrupted in the future. eVS-Compliant means you will not have to write your own software to create eVS manifests,  or design your own labels to be submitted to USPS for approval. This saves months of IT development, and eliminates need for IT support for future USPS rate changes.

2)     Reach agreement with ABOL Software on specific Easy-eVS solutions for you, and integrate them with your business process.

3)     The Post Office will deploy scanning equipment at their facility that will receive your shipments, so that they receive eVS shipments.

All parcel manifest data is submitted electronically to USPS, and is verified by their sampling procedures and scans of bar codes while in-transit. If errors are found, they simply adjust you postage and charge your CAPS account at the end of the month. This allows the Post Office to receive your parcels without paper manifests and statements, or verify manifest data before they accept it.
